KEYNOTE WORKSHOP

Becoming You Before The World Decides

Content:

2 x 60min sessions | Best for year 7-10

Growing up means being surrounded by messages about how to look, behave, belong, succeed and be accepted, while still trying to work out who you are.

This interactive experience helps girls recognise some of the forces shaping how they see themselves and gives them practical tools to understand their own bodies, values, beliefs and choices.

Girls explore:

  • comparison and the stories we create about ourselves
  • identity, belonging and external approval
  • body awareness and internal signals
  • social media, marketing and the “not enough” economy
  • beauty, consumer culture and attention
  • values and competing priorities
  • relationships and boundaries
  • perspective and the ability to hold two truths
  • self-trust and conscious decision-making

Girls are introduced to Katrina’s practical decision-making tool:

THE CHOICE COMPASS

Catch → Consider → Connect → Create → Choose

Outcome: girls leave with a stronger internal reference point and practical tools for questioning assumptions, recognising influence and making more conscious choices.

Meet Katrina Christian

Speaker • Educator • Founder of Wellwise Woman

I’m a qualified teacher and specialist educator in girls’ body literacy, self-literacy and wellbeing.

For more than 15 years I’ve worked with young people through education and facilitation. My work focuses on the things girls are often expected to navigate without necessarily being given the language or tools to understand; their changing bodies, periods and hormones, friendships, belonging, cultural messages, boundaries and increasingly complex choices.

My presentations are warm, honest and highly practical.

Because girls shouldn’t have to grow into women before they learn how to understand themselves.
